Trident gears up to guide motorists

Trident Solicitors

Husband and wife team Carl and Joanne Codd have chosen Hull city centre for the launch of their new law firm – the first in the city specialising in motoring matters.

Carl has been qualified as a solicitor for more than 10 years. Joanne has extensive experience as a team leader in administration at Magistrates Court.

Having established Trident Solicitors, based in Shirethorn House, Prospect Street, Hull city centre, they are aiming to bring something new to the region’s legal sector.

“There are other law firms in the region who work on motoring but none who specialise in it the way that we do,” said Carl.

“I have worked in all aspects of criminal law for the prosecution and the defence. I have found motoring particularly interesting and that is where we identified the gap in the market.”

“It’s not about getting drivers off if they have broken the law. It’s about making sure drivers who are charged with motoring offences understand what they are being accused of and what the procedures are.”

“We want to try and make sure defendants in motoring cases do not turn up at court unprepared, particularly in cases where they have reached 12 penalty points and could lose their job or suffer other exceptional hardship as a result of disqualification.”

Carl and Joanne hope that the opening of the Hull office will lead to expansion locally and further afield.

“We are both from the Humber area. We want to develop the business from here and hopefully have a number of branches in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire over the next five years,” said Carl.

Trident Solicitors can be contacted on 01482 227669 and via their website at www.
