Restaurants sign up to Eat Out to Help Out scheme
03 August, 2020

More than 60 city centre cafes, bars and restaurants are planning to dish up some big discounts for diners as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which runs throughout August.

Starting next week, customers will receive a big discount off the price of food and soft drinks every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the initiative which is designed to provide vital support to businesses.

Kathryn Shillito, HullBID Executive Director, said: “We are delighted to see that so many of our local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hotels have signed up to the Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which we hope will provide a real boost to the hospitality sector. As soon as Government announced the scheme, we were quick off the mark, sharing the news with city centre venues and encouraging them to get involved.

“It is a great opportunity for office workers, retailers and anyone else to take advantage of this fantastic scheme, which sees customers get 50 per cent off food and soft drinks up to the value of £10 on Mondays to Wednesdays, and we encourage as many people as possible to visit these places in the city centre.”
