Prospect Shopping Centre takes a trip down memory lane with traditional kids’ party
05 July, 2014

The foodcourt at Prospect Shopping Centre is set to be transformed into a children’s fun factory on Saturday as part of the centre’s 40th birthday celebrations. strEAT foodcourt will play host to an action-packed kids’ party with a range of free exciting activities for kids to get involved with as part of the centre’s birthday celebrations. There will be face painting, dancing, balloons and a children’s entertainer and DJ. All meals served in the foodcourt during the party will also be served up with a free slice of birthday cake. It will be the first party the foodcourt has held since it reopened in November last year. Parties were a popular fixture at the venue in years gone by, with many children celebrating their birthdays in the foodcourt. Now, shoppers can take a trip down memory lane and return to a children’s party to remember there. Centre manager Lee Appleton said: “The centre used to host children’s parties for many years and it was really popular for kids to celebrate their birthdays here with us in the centre, within the old foodcourt. “Now, we want to bring that back for our birthday celebrations and we hope the people who attended those parties when they were children will bring their own kids and families along to what promises to be an afternoon of fun.

“The event is free and is perfect for getting the kids involved in something fun for the weekend.” The party will be held on Saturday, July 5 from 2pm to 4pm and everyone is invited to attend.
