Hotham's Gin School wins gold again in White Rose Awards
Hotham's Gin School wins gold again in White Rose Awards
26 November, 2020

For the second year running, Hotham’s Gin School and Distillery has won Gold in the Experience of the Year category at the 2020 White Rose Awards.

The White Rose Awards is the largest tourism awards ceremony in the UK. An opportunity for Yorkshire to showcase the best and brightest it has to offer, the standard grows year on year as it continues to wow.

Hotham’s Gin School and Distillery, Hull and Leeds, offers a luxury gin-making experience, taking guests on a journey through the history of their favourite tipple, whilst learning all about the art of distillation. With expert help from Hotham’s distiller, guests distil a full-sized bottle of gin to take away with them, whilst enjoying Hotham’s gins, distilled on-site.

The judges said "A really tough category, still a fairly new business, it just keeps going from strength to strength. Having recently opened a second branch in Leeds, this is a progressive and hugely attractive business with countless personal touches, making it a first-class experience."

Simon Pownall, co-founder of Hotham's said, “After what can only be described as a horrific year for the tourism and leisure industry, winning at the White Rose Awards for the second consecutive year is a fantastic boost for us and our team. It's great to know that we continue to provide a first-class and safe experience for our guests, helping them make treasured memories. We can't wait to get back to normal service and welcome guests once again."

Hotham's was launched in 2018 by couple Simon Pownall and Emma Kinton. Their latest venture, Leeds Gin School, opened in March 2020. Earlier this year, Hotham's won silver at the Visit England Awards for excellence as well as receiving multiple awards for their gin.
