Ferens and Streetlife Museum to re-open - booking essential
22 July, 2020

Ferens Art Gallery and the Streetlife Museum will both re-open on Wednesday 22 July.

The two much-loved Hull destinations will re-open with measures in place to protect staff and visitors, in accordance with Public Health England guidance.

Entry will be by advance online booking only to manage the number of visitors at each site.

Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “I know how much people have missed our fantastic museum and galleries so I’m delighted that we are able to re-open Ferens and the Streetlife Museum this week.

“Staff have put a lot of work into introducing measures designed to keep visitors and staff as safe as possible, so it’s vitally important that people listen carefully to the guidance and staff when visiting our galleries and museums, as well as behaving responsibly at all times.”

Opening times will be Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm, and Sunday, 11am-3.30pm.

Tickets can be booked via www.hcandl.co.uk/museums-and-galleries or on the Eventbrite website (search Ferens or Streetlife).

Visitors will be able to book a one hour visit at each site and to help manage access safely and effectively.

Up to eight people can book onto each time slot. This means there will be a maximum of 24 visitors at each site at any given time, plus staff.

Visitors will be asked to keep a responsible distance from each other and follow the one-way systems that will be clearly marked on the floor and through signage.

Visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings/masks to help minimise the risk of spreading the virus.

Hand sanitiser points will also be in use and all visitors will be asked to sanitise on arrival.

Full information on how to book tickets and what to expect from your visit can be found at www.hcandl.co.uk/museums-and-galleries
