Creative Connections - art exhibition and workshops this World Mental Health Day!
29 August, 2025

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust are once again celebrating World Mental Health Day with a unique look at how art and creativity can positively support mental health. Their Art Exhibition will display work created by patients and service users, as well as members of the public who are invited to share their own work for the exhibit.

Following the success of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s 2024 Art Exhibition, Inner Reflections, Creative Connections will take place at Princes Quay Shopping Centre (Ground Floor) in Hull, between 11am and 3pm on Friday 10 October 2025.

Real connections have never been more important and as social beings, we feel better when supported by those around us. But sometimes it can be difficult to build relationships or find the right words to say. By using creativity, you don’t have to find the words.

During the event’s art exhibition there will also be a series of free art workshops and activities for visitors to get involved in on the day, such as doodle art and kintsugi (the Japanese art of mending broken pottery as therapy).

Research shows that getting involved in any type of art or creative process can support your mental health as it can boost mood, lower stress, improve social connections, reduce loneliness and promote self-discovery.

Get involved – the Trust are inviting members of the local community to get involved and submit artwork for the exhibition. Artwork can include paintings, drawings, photography, and much more. Contributors need to simply send their created artwork to the following address between 15th – 29th September 2025
