Love is in the air at Hull jewellers this February
Love is in the air at Hull jewellers this February
12 February, 2014

With Valentine’s Day approaching love was definitely in the air for Hull couple Lauren Keogh and Mark Jefferies as they embarked on creating their own wedding rings at the Oresome Gallery in Hull earlier this month.

Oresome Gallery and Jewellery Workshop is situated in the heart of Hull’s creative quarter. Oresome offer couples the unique opportunity to experience creating their own wedding rings in a two day exclusive course. No prior knowledge or skills are needed as experienced jewellers and business partners Nicola Fidell Chapman and Victoria Prince supported Lauren and Mark at every step of the way.

The couple got to grips with  a whole armoury of tools, techniques and processes straight away. Using blow torches to heat the metal in order to make it soft and workable. They also experienced using a range of hammers to create patterns and textures in the surface of the metal. There was an industrious few hours where the couple experimented with the techniques they had learnt in order to build their confidence and skills in readiness for making their final rings.

Nicola Fidell Chapman, Oresome partner said: “We usually encourage the couple to make each other’s rings to add to the romance of the day. This can sometimes lead to some healthy competition as to who’s ring will be the best. Ultimately it’s about making the experience fun and a memorable start to their life together.”

The wedding ring has been a symbol of eternal love and devotion since ancient times. The exchanging of rings is a symbol of a couples love and commitment to each other on their special day.  This experience provides couples with the opportunity to create their own unique rings and build lifetime memories that they will treasure forever.

Lauren said:”This a completely unique and a very special experience for both of us. Our wedding will last more than just a day it will create lifetime memories, staring with this process.  Mark and I would like to thank Nicola and Victoria for helping to make our wedding day even more memorable.”

Lauren and Mark are due to get married in April 2014 with their handmade platinum rings they created at Oresome. These courses are available throughout the year and dates can be arranged on dates to suit your needs. Courses are £500 per couple for 2 days plus material costs.
